Julien Knowles is an award-winning trumpet player, composer, arranger, and producer based in Los Angeles. After attending the Herbie Hancock Institute of Jazz where he was mentored by numerous legendary jazz artists including Herbie Hancock, Billy Childs, and Wayne Shorter, he has since worked and collaborated with musicians including Gerald Clayton, Louis Cole, Paul Cornish, Devin Daniels, Billy Mohler, Redveil, and Siena Spiro. Among many glowing endorsements of his 2024 debut album As Many, as One, Nate Chinen of NPR champions Julien as a “sophisticated thinker with a gift for unforced connection.” Join Julien’s quartet during his return to the legendary Townhouse Basement stage.
